He has a proven track record in building new businesses & structuring financial products across many asset classes including digital assets, equities, fixed income & fx on global exchanges.

An economics graduate from Bristol, Andrew (EDEN) first joined the insurance industry as a graduate entrant and then quickly moved on to Lloyds Bank Private Banking. Having been given the opportunity of opening offshore financial services in the Channel Islands for Lloyds Bank International, Andrew embraced the world of offshore financial services.

 

Ending his Lloyds Bank career as Head Office manager for Lloyds Expatriate, Black Horse Agencies & Forces Liaison (Pall Mall) Andrew was head-hunted to run the investment division of Friends Provident International based out of Hong Kong.  Within 3 years Andrew established Ernest Maude (which is his Mother’s & Father’s middle names, now in its 30th year) in Hong Kong and he has been specialising in wealth management and developing the use of property in particular as a way of improving capital growth and latterly increasing net income in retirement.

 

Andrew has actively contributed to a number of charitable works previously in Hong Kong including being a founder member of both the Pot Bellied Pigs Fat Boy Tens and the Wednesday Afternoon Golf Society charity days. 

 

In addition, Andrew clearly enjoys immensely BHA bringing the joy that it does to so many children (especially having 5 of his own).

Alex is a creative and energetic product and category manager with more than 12 years’ experience managing complex retail projects for FMCG brands. Over the course of her career, Alex has cultivated a rich network of relationships across retail, distribution, and manufacturing. She is currently category manager for one of the leading kids fashion groups in Europe. Past experience also includes working for the Trade Commission of Mexico, the Utah Governor’s Office for Economic Development, the Pan-American Games, and the Bidding Committee for the 2nd Youth Olympic Games “Guadalajara 2014”.

 

Alex cares deeply about childhood development, social justice, poverty alleviation, and women’s socioeconomic empowerment. She has built strong ties with her community, and has served on several NGOs fundraising committees in HK, focusing on grassroots fundraising and awareness campaigns targeting homelessness, menstrual poverty, mental health, and girls’ education and development.

Andrew is a long-term HK resident having arrived from Scotland in 1989 on a round-the-world trip.  33 years later, he is still here and now calls HK home, having been fortunate enough to marry a lovely HK lass, and be the father of two awesome lads in their 20s.  During working hours, he is involved in providing corporate training, elearning and educational content solutions for clients in Hong Kong and Asia. 

Since a life changing encounter with cancer in 2019, Andrew wants to give back to Hong Kong, which has given him so much. An active hiker and keen golfer, currently Andrew is the chairman of a local mini-rugby club, Tung Chung Buffaloes, a committee member of the charity-focused social rugby club, the HK Potbellied Pigs, and an active life member of the HK Scottish rugby club, rugby and children are a large part of his life. 

Andrew is honoured to be on the BHA committee and is passionate about its wonderful goals of providing a unique fun birthday experience for less fortunate Hong Kong kids, of which for such a wealthy city, there are sadly so many.
