Daniël de Blocq van Scheltinga is the founder and managing partner a Hong Kong-based financial and strategic advisory firm which  advises companies on  their Asian strategy, and Asian public and private entities on their  international strategy, including the execution of strategic acquisitions. He is also a Managing Partner in Silk Road Partners, a Belgian-based financial advisory boutique advising on investments across the silk road region.

 

Daniël has lived in Hong Kong for 23 years. He was the first foreigner to be granted permission to run the finance company of a top-tier Chinese State-owned Enterprise, having established and managed ChemChina Finance Company, and building the in-house M&A team for ChemChina. Prior to that Daniël held multiple positions in corporate and investment banking, including Asia Pacific Head of Chemicals, and Asia Head Asset Based Finance for ABN AMRO. 

 

Daniël is a member of the Advisory Board of the Dutch Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and its former Chairman, as well as former Treasurer and Board Member of the European Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, and Advisory Committee member of the Hong Kong Business Ethics Development Advisory Committee of ICAC.
